Explore 29 New Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-eating heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive panel hosted at NYCC. Is this a exciting addition or simply another crossover cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Take a look here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful context. Everything listed here launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before diving into all the various unique products and collections available, let’s take a look at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the expansion are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking details. First, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can cheat big creatures onto the game field whenever an attacker goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells as well. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the ability a bit (It counts as playing a spell, unlike the older mechanic). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

Should we go back to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu since that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced designer explained. “But in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with special art created exclusively for the set by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, many players were. Yet as per Wizards, it’s now a official card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:

Following the company’s current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for 15 months and we knew it was going to be Standard-legal and what other sets would be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to provide the pieces for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your Commander based on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area rather than only one). Take a look below:

This Commander precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise due to demand. Sources indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an extra 37 TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck comes with 37 land cards.)

How will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

Typically, Wizards is offering a collection. This one costs $69.99 and contains the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil land cards
  • 15 Regular basic lands
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza box. Each Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
  • 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • 1 storage box

If you’re wondering what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card with brand-new TMNT art. Wizards revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is made for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Play Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
  • One Premium Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Regular basic lands (for building your deck)
  • 10 Non-foil token cards
  • 1 drafting guide (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to create Magic products aimed at new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The concept is that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
