FC Barcelona Set to Play Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
