NFL Roundup: Broncos Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a close victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz provided the game-winning go-ahead field goal to secure the ugly win.

Dominant Performance Wins Contest

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 following giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets managed a mere 82 offensive yards during the entire game.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's 27-yard field goal with just over five minutes left.

Record Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had the ball with a opportunity to score a potential winning score. However Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it instead of sending out kicker Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," Glenn commented following the game.
